2013-04-15 - Fabulous silk scarf from Laos. This unique scarf is handcrafted in the so-called bum pattern, designed by Phinesouk Sumaloun (Souk). The delicate colouring - each side of the scarf has different shades - is what gives this scarf its extraordinary look.

This lovely silk scarf is naturally dyed and handwoven. The dye is made from indigo leaves and lac.

Souk owns a small social enterprise in Vientiane, Laos. She offers work (and so a fixed income) to ten artisans who are all working with her since day one. Their biggest wish? That people all over the world will start wearing their beautiful scarves.
