Saleem from Myanmar

Saleem from Myanmar

The border area between Thailand and Myanmar is an attractive place for trade. Myanmar is an impoverished country and its people come here to make some money by offering their products to Thai traders.

Saleem is from Myanmar and earns an income by selling her handmade stoles.  The stoles are crocheted in different patterns, like flowers - Saleem’s specialty.

She makes the stoles from a blend of wool and nylon she buys at a local market.

Take a look at a brown stola made by Saleem.
